John Briggs will use the excellent and free Stellarium sky simulation software to show how anyone can recognize Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and even Uranus in our current night sky. The presentation will feature recent photographs of the Moon and planets by Dr. Thomas Spirock and Dr. Robert Q. Fugate using telescopes similar to those owned by the Magdalena Astronomical Society. The summer cloudy season is drawing to an end, and we can now all enjoy the evening stars again.
John will also report recent interesting news and activity from the Society and from the Astronomical Lyceum on South Main Street.
